As a huge Sex in the City fan I’ve always wanted to visit NYC. The shots of the city streets leave me in awe each time I turn on the tube. Over 8 million people all crammed into a 305 square mile city is something I can’t fathom here in my sprawled out desert home town. In the show Carrie and her girls are in so many great parts of the city and the one thing they all seem to do in every episode is share a meal and some gossip at some fab restaurant.

I’ve been researching this dream trip of mine for quite a few years now, everytime I find a new website of something I want to see I have a special folder in my bookmarks call ‘The Sex and the City Trip’ that holds all the links. Last night while messing around online I found something that totally fits right into my trip itinerary which I didn’t even know existed. Walking Food Tours NYC, you actually pay someone to take you out into the city and they show you the best food spots the Big Apple has to offer!

I fell in love with this idea because well, I like love to eat and they have a Greenwich Village Food Tour that includes a stop for cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery made famous from Sex and the City! Can you say AWESOME!?!

Vacationing vicariously though a t.v. show may be a little nerdy but when the day finally comes that I’ll step off the plane and step into Manhattan I know it’s gonna be one helluva trip! I just did a little evaluation of all of the links I have saved and if I tried to do everything that has caught my eye my vacation there would have to be for 3 months *chuckle* A girl can dream though can’t she?

Whilst I was away in my minimal online travels I discovered this great site called TUT’s Adventurers Club. You can sign up for their daily Notes from the Universe which are positive reinforcement emails that are served up fresh and delivered hot to your inbox Monday through Friday each week.

Now I’m not getting all touchy-feely and new age-y but it is nice to have an email sitting there each morning before work that gives me a little extra boost…give it a shot you may find you like it as much as me…and if not you can always unsubscribe

Here’s an example of the message I got on New Year’s Day:

I want you to know, Sarah, that I’ve ordered up another year for you.

Think I’ll call it 2010.

I’m going to put most of the same people of 2009 in it, since you all think so much alike. But there’ll also be a few new, very cool cats coming to play – give them some time to grow up though.

And I’m going to have things start off pretty much exactly where they left off in 2009, for continuity’s sake. Flips folks out too much when I don’t.

I’ve been making some pretty cool discoveries since I’ve been back running a’muck online. For instance, one of my favorite bloggers has opened a shop named Mireio and I’m head over heels in love with all of her creations! Her handmade housewares are incredibly beautiful and a certain nostalgia for a simple southern summer comes over me just looking at them.

Her work has been featured on Modish (a nifty and very popular crafting blog). I suggest you take a peek and admire (and then acquire) something from her selection of gorgeous goods…I know I’m going shopping as soon as my next deposit hits PayPal

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m the worst possible blogger and a bullshitter to boot *chuckle* I realized that I said I’d be “back to blogging” over a month ago and I’ve only posted a sorry couple posts since then. Go figure.

That’s ok though, I guess I’ll get sorted out the best I can some other day…

But tonight I logged into my word press and noticed to my surprise there was a new incoming link titled The Beary Best. So, I gave it a click and found I’d been awarded this little cutie-pie…

In other news, I turned a whopping 23 years old on August 8th, it came and passed without much hullabaloo. I just realized I’m going to have to update my age on the sidebar now *chuckle* This whole place really needs a new look and the cobwebs swept out of the corners…I’m so embarrassed at the condition of AIS. Reckon I’ll add that to my never ending to-do list…
