“I have to give you a name, yaknow an online one. I don’t use real names on my blog and since you’ll probably be blog fodder for me at some point I have to find something to call you so the people that read my stuff know I’m talking about you. I can’t just call you “the new boyfriend” forever, it’s too long and not really catchy.”

“Um.”

“Seriously, you gotta help me out here…this is really important.”

“Ok, well my friends used to call me ‘Harold T’, would that work?”

“Uh, no, that’s not quite what I’m going for. See my ex was known as ‘The Hotness’ in my writings, it’s gotta be catchy yaknow.”

“Well what about ‘Ferrrari’ since I’m like so exotic and sporty? Or ‘Horse’ ha ha?”

“No, no that won’t work…you’re killin’ me here…this is serious bloggin’ business dude.”

“In college when I was playing baseball they used to call me ‘Kranker’ because of my hitting a lot of home runs…”

“That makes you sound like a drug addict. I can’t have you sounding like that…jesus…my mother reads this thing!”

“What about ‘Frank n’ Beans’?”

“Uh no, why don’t we just put this on the back burner…think about it some more and get back to me would you?”

“Ok. But I still think Frank n’ Beans is pretty funny…”

So as you can see by the above conversation between the new boyfriend and I the jury is still out on naming naming him…but as soon as we can come up with something that doesn’t make him sound like a 90-year old drug addict, barnyard animal, or a cheap meal you eat because you’re broke before payday I’ll do an intro post so you all can meet him

But for now I want to find some great new bloggers to read and add to my collection of favorites…any suggestions?

It’s time for a fresh start, a new life and a return to the world of daily writing to the internets that I loved for so long. A hiatus from the online world wasn’t my first choice but it was something that had to happen I think. For a long time I pounded away on these keys on a daily basis, creating content and making connections with people from every walk of life. It did become overwhelming sometimes and soon I realized it was creeping into my every waking moment. I was no longer living my life except through a computer screen.

So I took a year off, and did some living. Most of it wasn’t pretty…in fact some of it was downright terrible but I did it and lived through it and now feel that I’m rebalanced and ready to come back to a true passion of mine- this place. I’ve changed, you’ve all changed, the world has changed but I’m sure that in spite of all the changing that’s gone on I’m ready to come back and bullshit with the internets once more.

Time to get this place back in ship shape. To those who are faithful and are reading this now I thank you for diggin my words so much that you’re still around, to the new readers I say get ready, and to everyone I just wanna say AIS is back and open for business so hang on tight and lets enjoy the ride

It’s been a good time though – raised some money for charity, gave some cool stuff away and ranted and raved about all sorts of stupid crap. Here’s to another four years of filling the internet with my useless ramblings

I went to check the Blogathon website and was kinda bummed to find that it didn’t happen this year. Granted, putting on the ‘thon is a HUGE production and tough work to boot so I understand their wanting to take a year off to rest a bit. I really do hope though that it comes back in 2009 because it’s one helluva great idea and I totally need my fix *chuckle* I <3 my Blogathon!

Figured I’d start with this one…

Didn’t figure I would make my whole fucking blog disappear!

I don’t know what happened or why but after the update everything was just blank. Somehow managed to fix it (don’t ask me how, there was some fiddling and many swear words involved) but I just about lost my mind because silly me didn’t back up! Methinks I’m ready for a beer now…jeez lousie…

P.S. 2.6.2 looks pretty damn nifty back here…I suppose after I finish my others I can sit down and play with it! wh00t!

So that was lame. BUT I just signed up for a Spanish course so I can only hope that my mad Spanish skills will reveal themselves sometime soon to make my post titles a little more correct.

I’m not down with the lingo – yet.

I’m also not down with having to update all of my WP installations…apparently this weekend will be split between cleaning out my kitchen cabinets and updating…woo freakin’ hoo. It seems every time I log into my little control panel I’m met with:

“A new version of WordPress is available! Please update now.”

O rly?

I’m thinking it would be kinda cool if we could wake up and see the following floating around above our heads in a little yellow strip:

“A new version of Your Life is available! Please update now.”

I for one would click that sucker everytime it arrived *chuckle*

On a more serious and somber note, I’d like to take a moment to remember both my brother who passed away 3 moths ago today as well as the many lives lost in the 9-11 attacks. I hope all of the souls have found peace.

I have another blog (FireSafeHouse.com) that I actually do earn some income from. It’s nothing special, it was kinda started as a joke, and I’m actually shocked I have been earning a little bit of cash with it. I call it my “pocket change blog”. I sat down and thought about it and realized that if that one blog worked for I should be able to replicate another one right?

Now with the other previously established blog I have I make anywhere from $40-60 a month with it, put no work into it other than the initial investment of time to set it up. I don’t update, change the layout or anything. The only cost is the domain name and the money it makes from text link ads pays for all of my hosting for all of my sites and all of my sites domain name registrations. Pretty good deal if you ask me. I’m sure if I was to actually put some continual work into it I could make more but I’m satisfied with the results I’m seeing for now.

So after a few hours of messing around with a domain I’d bought ages ago I got my latest little pocket change venture on its feet. The Arizona Blog is basically just a collection of articles on various aspects of Arizona, ranges from travel to real estate. If you have a spare moment check it out, there are actually some really good articles on there

I’ll be using it as a testing ground for Adsense and Text Link Ads and if I can find something out about either that is of any use I’ll gladly pass it along here. But that’s what my latest “fun” is…hope everyone is doing well
