Easy on the Christmas Please

I’m trying not to Grinch up the place or anything but I think this year I’m going to just let Christmas sort of pass on by. I’ve gotten some cards done and picked up the kid’s and grandkid’s gifts but I don’t think I’ll be doing much more than that. The tree, lights, baking, festivals, sleigh rides and ho-ho-hos are just going to have to be left to someone else.

Our next door neighbor has his house lit up a la Griswold, which is nice, I figure I’ll just hope some of the light beaming from his house will light mine up a little. He even offered to hang my lights for me, which was a nice gesture but not gonna happen because A.) I don’t own outdoor lights. and B.) I honestly don’t feel like it.

It’s been a rough year and I just don’t feel even a little “in the spirit”. I hope next year I’ll be back to my maniac Martha Stewart-esq Christmas-y self. But for this year I think it’ll be a low key Xmas for me.

Take your time. You feel how you feel when you feel it… Nothing wrong with a break from the holidays.

It is ok to be low key for christmas. My family and I are like this since years. A simple gathering of the 4 of us.

I was like that a few years ago. I didn’t even decorate the tree (Marcus had to do it). It’s perfectly ok to take a break from it if you’re not feeling it. (((HUGS)))

I don’t blame you a bit. Bring back the yuletide when YOU feel like it.

I hope your Christmas is just filled with peace, lights or no lights.

    I’m all for low key.

I wish I had been from the start.

    Better late than never.
