What a Week!

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

It’s been busy around Casa de la Buggie this week! The Hotness has returned to Kuwait for the final leg of his deployment which is sad and exciting all at the same time. I know we’re on the tail end of this whole thing but I’d still rather have him here yaknow?

I got great news that I have finally been approved for Federal Aid to go to college! I’ve been waiting for so long to get to go back to school that I’d almost given up. But after a meeting with an adviser at the college this past week I was able to secure funding to start working towards my associates and eventually my bachelors degree in Business Management! This is going to be huge, it’s a lot of work and I’m only going to be able to get in a couple classes a semester so it’s going to take awhile but it’s the first step and I can’t wait to get started!

Annnnd finally I’ve been nominated over at the Blogger’s Choice Awards for “Best Blog About Stuff“! I’m really hoping to win as I’ve never been in the running in the previous years. So if you have a spare moment please please head over there and vote for An Indian Summer by clicking here or on the balloon in the sidebar under my picture :)

Today me n’ my bff Pat are off to the Marana Jr. Rodeo to watch the kids ride :) I’ll be taking oodles of pictures and will post those up on flickr tonight or tomorrow…but I’d better go get ready so I’ll talk to you all later! Byeeeeeeee!

I’m One 2,252 in a Million

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

Here’s something to peek at if you have a spare moment – The Million Blog List! These folks are trying to see how long it will take to get 1 million bloggers to list themselves on their site. I went ahead and put myself on the other day and I was the 2,252nd blogger to jump on the wagon. I’m hoping they reach their goal, it’s a neat idea…

Plus you can snag this nifty badge for your blog:

Get listed at www.millionbloglist.com

In their words:

It is said that there are over 70,000,000 blogs in existence. This is an experiment to see how long it will take to get 1,000,000 blogs to list themselves on our site. Will it work? We think so. The experiment is to see how long will it take. What do you think? take our poll. We started April 10th, 2008.

He’s Home!

Monday, October 13th, 2008

The Hotness is back! :) After a 18 hour flight he’s finally got his boots on Arizona soil once again, and I’m one happy cat! There’s so much for us to do and so many people to go see over the next two weeks so he’ll probably need a vacation after all this is done *chuckle*

Next weekend we’re hosting a huge party here at Casa de la Buggie for all of our friends and family and in between work and trying to enjoy his being home we have to seriously start planning. The menu is still up in the air and I don’t think we’ll have the time to theme it out like I’d wanted to but he’s here and that’s all that matters!

It’s been rough without him here, being without my other half has left me uninspired and rather glum. I’ve neglected so much online and offline that it’s almost a daunting task of trying to rekindle all the projects that I’ve let putter out. I’m hoping that after he leaves again I can find a way to pull myself up by the bootstraps and get back into the swing of things with a better attitude and more energy. I think knowing that we’re in the last half of this journey will help considerably.

Anywhoot, he had a layover in Ireland and picked up this spiffy Guinness t-shirt for me :)

Bug Rockin' Guinness Gear!

(Please excuse the crazy hair/face/etc…I was getting ready for work.)

While he’s home I’ve mapped out some plans to do a new set of promo shots for The Bug Hour, hopefully we can produce something nice and new…make sure to check back and see what we come up with :)
