I live on the surface of the sun (aka Arizona). Anyone who doesn’t have air conditioning in their car out here seriously suffers. Seriously. Especially during rush hour, or sitting at a stop light, or getting into the car after being stuck in Wal-Mart for two hours because only one register is open on a pay-day Friday. Ok…so basically anytime you get in your car here you want to have the ability to crank on some icy-cold relief.
During the summer I keep my little putt-putt truck parked and drive the Mercedes simply because the car has a/c and the truck doesn’t. Lately though I’m noticing that it’s not working up to snuff…which isn’t a good sign. Usually The Hotness does all of the work on our vehicles when something goes awry. He heads off to the auto parts store and then disappears into the garage for a few days. Well he’s not here…which leaves me at the mercy of the local Mercedes garage *shudder*
Come to find out my a/c compressor is in need of replacement. The quote the shop gave me caused small veins in my head to pop. It wasn’t pretty. I figured I would try to bargain with the nice old fella who was telling me that fixing my a/c would cost more than the property taxes on my house and a full tank of gas. I asked if it were possible to purchase the parts and bring them in, thereby avoiding the ridiculous markup that they’d tagged on. He agreed, so off I went.
Thankfully The Hotness (via the wonderful interwebs) helped me locate a site that sells a quality low-cost Mercedes AC compressor. To make it even better they have a full warranty on their parts and free shipping. It’s a win-win situation and I don’t have to sweat like a stuck pig anymore! So fyi if you’re in need of bits n’ pieces to make your air work like a charm go check Discount AC Parts out, they offer tons of auto ac parts for every make and model you can think of including the BMW AC compressor ![]()
