Let them Eat View Cake!

Due to my new found Etsy surfing addiction (thank you Mireio) I’ve found some rather cool cake websites. Don’t ask me why…I’m like a kid with ADD at a psycadelic circus when it comes to the ‘net – I’m all over the place.

In our house a “cake” is defined as something flat and rectangular or round-ish that I attempt to smear frosting on, make a piss poor attempt to write a heartfelt message of love and affection then throw sprinkles on the damn thing load it down with candles and torch the s.o.b. It’s a very Git-R-Done process that produces some of the ugliest cakes on the planet….so I thought.

Until I discovered Cake Wrecks.

Tacky frosting jobs, hilarious misspellings, freaky subject matter, and snarky commentary, uh, puts the icing on the cake (sorry I couldn’t help myself).

Seriously hang out over there for a bit and read the archives, the writer is HILARIOUS!

I now feel better about my lack of skillz with confections because even with my shitty cake making techniques I have to admit even I couldn’t produce the piles of crap some people are passing as professional cakes.

Once you’re done L’ing-your-FAO and whatnot check out Mike’s Amazing Cakes to see some really fuckin’ amazing cake-work :)

  1. I love Cake Wrecks. :)

And Game Cakes, although they never really update… :(

  2. I had good laughs. And an encouragement: I might venture to make a cake myself for my wife’s next birthday.

  3. Mmm your cake sounds good, I don’t care what it looks like, juts that it taste yummy. Now I want cake!

  4. Cake Wrecks is the best. I discovered that site about two months ago and it makes me laugh all of the time. I even like the cakes they sometimes highlight like the Muppet cake the other day.

  5. Now, the question is – do they taste as bad as they look!?

  6. I love Cake Wrecks! My favorite is when people put the instructions on the cake– like “congratulations” in green.
