Hand Kissing?

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

Yesterday morning we went to Denny’s for breakfast and waiting for the guy in front of us to finish up paying for his meal I noticed he reached out and grabbed the hand of the cashier (who was an attractive young Hispanic girl) and then kissed it . As it happened a look of shock immediately took over her whole face, which I totally understood because this guy wasn’t exactally the kind of dude you want kissing you anywhere. He was not attractive by any stretch in his mid-forties, balding and wearing an icky shirt that barely covered his paunch.

Just. Ew.

What the hell? I thought there was like a rule that you had to be tall, dark and handsome or European to do that kind of shit…

Denny’s? I mean c’mon.

Guys, do you do the whole hand kiss thing?

I’m talking about Finance…get your mind outta the gutter ;)

When I first entertained the thought of buying a house I was pretty darn naive about home loans and the process of getting financed. Granted, The Hotness is a real estate appraiser so there were a few bits and pieces of knowledge that he dropped here and there that I depended on in making my decisions to begin the process of trying to secure the loan.

We were living in a company sponsored house and the term for our stay was quickly coming to an end. It was time to make the big decision, either rent something or jump into the housing market and buy something to call home.

At the time I was 21 years old, self employed and I wasn’t even sure that I could even qualify for a loan but was extremely shocked when I found out that I was. Apparently my responsible use of the two credit cards I signed up for to start my business really made my credit score a beaut.

After I found out that I could successfully get a mortgage I started to shop around with The Hotness and finally picked the house we’re currently in, it was priced mid-range compared to everything we looked at and seemed like a pretty sound investment. We love our home and I’m wicked proud of myself for managing my finances well so I could be able to own a home so early in life.
