How to Podcast the Simple Way
Wanna podcast? Wanna put it on your blog? Don’t know where the fuck to start? I gotcha covered 
The other day in my ‘net travels I found a new website that is making podcasting super simple and it’s 100% free. *nods* I like free, free is good. I’m sure you like free as well. I feel an introduction is in order. Readers meet Odeo, Odeo meet my readers!
So, I tried it out and found that it works extremely well. Here’s the overview of the whole deal:
1. Sign up for the free account.
2. Go right to the studio to “Record New Audio”.
3. Record your podcast.
4. Save it.
5. Odeo gives you a snippet of code that you just copy and paste into your post.
6. Publish your post annnnnnd yer done!
I did a test recording using their studio software to see how the whole thing worked and this was the result for your listening pleasure:

They also provide a few different styles of players so you don’t just have to use the default player. Here’s a screenshot of the current styles you can pick from:
I think this is pretty cool, it’s like Blogger for podcasting *chuckle* And incidentally one of the guys who helped create this service (Evan Williams) was the same guy who created Blogger Little history trivia factoid there for ya to impress your bloggin’ buddies with.

Odeo is a great service. I especially like their messaging service, but don’t use them anymore.
I do hope that after Evan last week admitted the errors they have made with Odeo, they can catch up again and continue to grow.
Btw, you’ll have to watch out using the word podcast. Apple will sue you

Oh boy. Literally. My kid is going to LOVE YOU. He’s been pestering me to podcast. NOT ME: but to help HIM podcast. Yes, my 9 year old blogs. S i g h. And evidently, now he’s going to be talking to the universe as well. Hee.
