Bug’s Cancer Smack-Down

Cancer. It’s a strange thing really, it can completely destroy lives but it can also bring people closer together than they ever thought possible. Some of you may have had personal experiences with cancer, known someone who’s had it, or just have a vague knowledge that it’s “somewhere out there”.

A very small group of folks know about my experiences with cancer, that’s right, I’ve had my bout. And a very few people know about The Hotness, he’s faced the beast as well. This disease has also affected many people around me– my family and my friends. It causes me to want to kick some serious ass due to the pain and suffering it causes people I love.

Since I can’t physically lay the Buggie-smack-down on cancer per say, I’ve decided to take another route– raise some cash to fund the research and education that helps people deal with, treat, and cure their cancer.

The almighty dollar bill can help facilitate this ass-beating on cancer and I want to ask you to join me in the fight.

I’m proud to be participating in Blogathon 2006 and I’ll be raising money for the American Cancer Society because they cover a wide range of cancer research and they also have excellent education programs. I’ll be waking up early and at 6am on July 29th will be posting here at AIS twice an hour for 24 hours straight (that’s 48 posts chalked full of Buggie Goodness folks) all to raise some cash to kick cancer’s ass.

Cilck here to sponsor Bug!

But, I need y’alls help because no man woman is an island, even if you can only toss a dollar into the pot that’s ok, every little bit helps and is much appreciated! Donations can be made in flat sum or a by the hour sponsorship (kinda like a walk-a-thon) for every hour I stay awake and postin’. Help me lay the smack-down, it’s quick, easy, and you won’t even have to take your earrings out (guys without earrings just pretend you have them for a bit) ;)

If you’d like to join me in the fight now you can click here to sponsor me. (sign-up is pretty easy but if you need help just holler)

If you can’t afford to donate any cash you can sponsor me without spending a dime, click here for more info!

All my sponosors will be put into a drawing for some great stuff the day after the ‘thon ends! Click here for the prizes list!

If you have any questions please drop me an email at: [bug AT thelastcowgirls DOT com]

Sponsorship Breakdown:
To sponsor a blogger (yours truly) click on the link you are given by your blogger. You will be taken to a sign up page where you enter some basic information and begin the pledge process. You then choose to either sponsor with an hourly amount (example: $2 per hour x 24 hours) or you can sponsor with a single flat donation.

You will then recieve a verification email from the Blogathon. Inside that email is a link you’ll need to click in order to verify your donation. Make sure to do this, if you don’t get that verification email contact me asap (bug AT thelastcowgirls DOT com)

At the end of the Blogathon an automated email will be generated, and sent to you letting you know the amount of your donation (either flat or hourly) and where you can send your payments via a secure online payment processing site (in my case it’s American Cancer Society).

If you have any questions, forget to leave a trail of breadcrumbs and get lost, or need help please drop me an email at: [bug AT thelastcowgirls DOT com]

I am so going to cheer you on too! Wow, I admire those who do these blogathon things. If I didn’t have rugrats who demanded my attentions so much, I’d do one too. But, for now, I sponsor and will sponsor you too! You go girl. You rock.

Water Babies & Blogathons = Busy, Busy!

This past Tuesday my home was over run by tiny kids! It was a blast to have babies around these parts again. Granted, my little Bean is only 6 years old, but it seems forever ago that she was 18 months and trudging around in diapers. For me, it was suc…
