Life is Funny Like That
Most of you may know that I’ve got a very verbal denial of ever wanting to have kids. They require me to be selfless at basically all levels and we all know how selfish I can be. I always say how I like the idea of being able to hand people’s little ones back when I’m done oohing and ahhhing over them.
Very few of you know that secretly I’ve always wanted babies. Nothing would please me more than to stay home and do nothing but care for wee ones. Having my own kids to watch grow would be the best thing in the world. I put on a big show of denial for who knows what reason–I think I’m just scared. I want to be able to invite my friends to my baby shower and have all of us decorate the nursery that will house my first, second and maybe even third family addition. I want the formula, diapers, burpings, strollers and nighttime songs in the rocking chair.
Well my dear friends, it looks like I’m going to get it all…that’s ok read it again, I’ll wait. *beams* I’m pregnant!!!!!! Damn it feels weird just seeing myself type it. But long story short I missed the real time o’ the month (not the day o’ stats) and after about a week I started to get worried. Went out and got three of those home test kits and well, you know the rest. I go to the doctor’s office to get it confirmed on this coming Tuesday!
I’m really hoping this all goes well with the family; they can be sorta judgmental sometimes. The Hotness is just beside himself happy 
He’s already started looking up names online and has re-run his search on the MLS for houses with four bedrooms instead of two. I’m scared, excited and just nervous as hell all rolled into one…he’s all giddy and sweet.
This would also explain my sudden quitting of my favorite thing in the world to do…smoking. The Hotness agreed with me when I said that there should be no reason for either of us to continue to smoke since it’s not only bad for us and the baby but it’ll help us save money as well.
One of my best friends Danger is doing something cool and I think I’m going try and do it as well. She’s decided to take pictures of her belly at certain intervals during the pregnancy. I’m going to try and one up her on those by starting much earlier (and so one day I can pull out the pix and show my kids what their mommy’s belly looked like pre-strechmarks):
