Kinder Cakes Review

Kinder Cakes are YummyI found the Kinder Cakes to be a very unique idea the moment I stumbled across the Kinder Cakes & More blog that is maintained by Ashley McLure. Kinder Cakes are little 4″ cake kits that contain everything you need to make their cakes in the microwave all ya gotta do is add some water. Neat eh? Ashley was kind enough to send two sample cake kits for me to review and share my thoughts about it with ya’ll. I’d share the cake with you but…well just read the review to find out why I can’t ;o)

I was sent their Vanilla Cake and their Chocolate Cake kit. When the package first arrived I was a bit skeptical because how good could a cake be that you make in the microwave right? But hey I’ll try anything once. So I started with making the chocolate cake via the simple instructions they provide. It took about 5 minutes total to whip the whole thing up and bake it in the microwave in the little baking dish the kit is packaged in. While it was baking the house filled with the yummy smell of chocolate and my family members immediately appeared in the kitchen to find out what I was up to.

Once the cake cooled and I had frosted it and put the sprinkles on it (both included in the kit) I cut it into four pieces and each of us had one. The vote was unanimous, it’s a damn good cake! Very moist and spongy with rich frosting, a nice treat. After finishing off the chocolate I was ordered back into the kitchen to make the Vanilla one which was just as simple to prepare and the frosting turned out nice and thick. Again the cake was devoured and proclaimed to be very tasty.

Overall I think this is a great product that’s easy to use and helpful for when you just don’?t want to send someone a boring old greeting card or need a quick last minute gift. The Kinder Cakes got not only my stamp of approval but the thumbs up from three of my very picky family members. If you’d like more information about the kits or would like to order one (or ten for that matter) just visit Ashley McLure’s site by clicking here!
