What a crazy Saturday! Yesterday started with me waking up at 6am to feed the animals…and it got so much better from there!
The day started out nice and sunny…warm, so I called Mel and told her that we had to go to the flea market. She came out to the house and we loaded up in my truck armed with one dollar bills and the insatiable urge to find the perfect deals…
Got there, did I mention the weather was un-fucking-believable? Anyway…we had steak burritos from the Taco Truck and went to town at the stalls…we saw so much and everyone was in such a great mood. We managed to pet 4 dogs (a flea market ritual of ours, find cute dogs and gush over them for hours)…3 toy breeds and one incredibly cute mutt dog.
)
My shopping for the day consisted of finding one Marilyn Monroe book for $4…the pictures are incredible…I couldn’t stop looking at it…2lbs. of honey from Mrs. Beatty’s ranch up in Miller Canyon…local honey is soooo yummy…and 1lb. of pecans for Josh…which I’ve managed to eat most of them *blush*
We get home, and Mel pulls a stack of those felt coloring posters out of her car and tells me that I have to color them so I can hang them in the studio…lol…so I put them on the counter and we wander outside to see what dad is doing. He was working on Sebastian’s truck…window wouldn’t stay on track…anyway, Seb and his friend Mike who works with him at the restruaunt show up.
After about 45 minutes of us all standing in the front yard bullshitting and smoking up a storm I go inside to start on one of the posters…too cold outside for me. I had told the boys earlier I was going to force them to color one of the posters…but boys are boys and they’d told me they’d be caught dead coloring *giggle*. So I put on some AC/DC and started on a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs poster….
Pretty soon everyone trickled into the house as the clouds were really rolling in and it was getting nipply…and would you believe it…not two minutes later I had a 16 year old and a 21 year old sitting at the table with me coloring fuzzy felt posters! *evil laugh*
Mike is a nice kid, from Penn., moved out here as he got himself into some trouble. But, he’s working for a fresh start here, which I think is great
) Not to mention he took my ribbing pretty well, so he has a sense of humor and takes my shit as I throw it out which I also think is great
) And even after he strongly stated he’d be caught dead coloring a fuzzy felt poster, he was sitting in my kitchen asking Sebastien to pass the green marker so he could help me color in my trees *dies laughing*
The rest of the afternoon was spent with all of us sitting around the table diligently working on fuzzy felt posters that cost a dollar swapping markers and stories…it’s what makes all my trials and tribulations worth it. The little things like that, simple stuff.
Around 6 Mike went home and we all went to Vinny’s for pizza and wings…what a lovely lovely day.
)
Oh, dad went to the docs on Friday! He’s lost 43 lbs ANNNND his diabetes has disappeared! I’m so pleased, he’s made such and effort to get better, totally cut out soda pop and fried foods…he’s seems happier *looks so proud* He’s gonna get himself better…I know it.
Ok I have to go…brekkie…but here’s a quiz I took this morning:
